Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 1, 2026

This document outlines our commitment to your privacy and the terms under which Pharo-LLM tools are provided.

Our Commitment to Privacy

At Pharo-LLM, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right. Our tools are designed from the ground up to respect and protect your data.

Data Collection

Pharo-LLM collects only limited telemetry for diagnostics, product improvement, and reliability. We do not collect your code, prompts, conversations, or personal project files as part of this telemetry.

This telemetry helps us understand how the software performs in the real world, detect issues, and improve the overall experience.

Examples of telemetry we may collect include: app version, operating system, high-level feature or model usage, suggestion acceptance or rejection counts, crash or error events, and privacy-policy consent choices.

In other words, we collect product and diagnostic signals, not the content of your work.

Local-First Design

Pharo-LLM is designed to run primarily on your local machine. Your code, prompts, conversations, and project data stay under your control and are not collected as part of our telemetry.

Unless you explicitly choose to connect an external provider or service, Pharo-LLM does not send your working content anywhere for storage or analysis.

⚠️ Important: External AI Providers

However, this changes if you choose to use external AI providers.

If you configure Pharo-LLM tools to connect to external services such as Gemini (Google), Anthropic (Claude), Mistral, OpenAI, or any other third-party API, then your prompts, code snippets, and conversation history will be sent to those external providers' servers.

In that case:

  • Your data is subject to the privacy policies and terms of service of those external providers.
  • Those providers may store, log, or process your information according to their own practices.
  • Pharo-LLM has no control over how those providers handle your data.

You are solely responsible for understanding and accepting the privacy practices of any external service you choose to connect to. We strongly recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any AI provider before sending them your data, especially if it contains sensitive or proprietary information.

Open Source Transparency

Pharo-LLM is open source software. You can inspect the code to verify for yourself that no data collection or external communication occurs unless you explicitly configure it to do so. Transparency is at the heart of our trust.

Terms of Service

Pharo-LLM tools are provided "as is" under the MIT License. By using our tools, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for how you use the tools and any outputs they generate.
  • Pharo-LLM is not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from the use of these tools.
  • If you connect to external providers, you accept their terms and acknowledge that your data will be handled according to their policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
